How do I resolve a Domain Name Dispute?

Do you think you should be the registrant of a domain name that someone else has already registered? Or, has someone complained that your domain name is an unfair registration and they should be able to have it?

The .nz Domain Name Commission (DNC) is the regulatory authority responsible for overseeing the .nz domain name space in New Zealand. Established by InternetNZ, the DNC's primary role is to ensure that the .nz domain environment remains fair, secure, and competitive for all users.

The Domain Name Commission(DNC) has published a brochure for people thinking of disputing about an existing domain name registration, and for those who have had a complaint made against them. It provides basic information about their process for resolving disputes, and shows where to look for more.

The Domain Name Commission(DNC) has also setup a Dispute Resolution Service. Anyone who wishes to make a complaint about the registration of a .nz domain name that they view as being unfair may use this system. View more information at the DNC web site here: http://www.dnc.org.nz/drs/

All disputes should be directed to the DNC. They will notify the registrar of any changes to be made to a domain in dispute. The registrar will comply to any instruction given by the DNC or a NZ court order. The registrar will not be able to make changes to any domain while it is in dispute. And only the DNC can facilitate any changes.
