If you are hosting your email with 1st Domains, we would have automatically added the DNS SPF record when you purchased the email service. However, if you need to re-add the SPF record, you can find the value below along with step-by-step instructions on how to add it.
Steps to Add or Edit Your SPF Record:
- Log in to your 1st Domains account and click on ‘Manage Domains & Services’.
- Select the domain name you wish to add the SPF record to from the list.
- Under the 'Services' section, click on 'Manage DNS Zone Records'.
- If an existing SPF record is present, you can edit it by clicking on the hostname itself, it will be a clickable link that opens the record for editing. If there is no SPF record, click on 'Add Record' at the top of the list.
Record Details:
-
Hostname: Leave this as the root domain (e.g., the domain without “www”).
-
Record Type: Select 'TXT' from the drop-down menu.
-
Value: v=spf1 include:_spf.1stdomains.co.nz ~all
Once entered, click on 'Update' to save the changes.
Important Notes:
-
If your email is hosted with another provider, you’ll need to contact them to get the correct SPF value.
-
Do not add multiple SPF records. If you're using another email service (e.g., a newsletter provider), you must combine their SPF value with the one above into a single record.
