What is 1st Domains SPF record?

If you are hosting your email with 1st Domains, we would have automatically added the DNS SPF record when you purchased the email service. However, if you need to re-add the SPF record, you can find the value below along with step-by-step instructions on how to add it.

Steps to Add or Edit Your SPF Record:

  1. Log in to your 1st Domains account and click on ‘Manage Domains & Services’.
  2. Select the domain name you wish to add the SPF record to from the list.
  3. Under the 'Services' section, click on 'Manage DNS Zone Records'.
  4. If an existing SPF record is present, you can edit it by clicking on the hostname itself, it will be a clickable link that opens the record for editing. If there is no SPF record, click on 'Add Record' at the top of the list.

Record Details:

  • Hostname: Leave this as the root domain (e.g., the domain without “www”).

  • Record Type: Select 'TXT' from the drop-down menu.

  • Value: v=spf1 include:_spf.1stdomains.co.nz ~all

Once entered, click on 'Update' to save the changes.

Important Notes:

  • If your email is hosted with another provider, you’ll need to contact them to get the correct SPF value.

  • Do not add multiple SPF records. If you're using another email service (e.g., a newsletter provider), you must combine their SPF value with the one above into a single record.
