You can check whether your website has a valid SSL certificate directly in any modern browser. Here are the easiest ways:
Look at the address bar. This is where the domain name is displayed at the top of your browser. For this example we are using Chrome, but this is the same for Edge as well. If using edge the tune icon will look like a padlock, ![]()
Look for the tune icon
on the left of the URL and what it means
-
Icon present: SSL is installed and valid. - ⚠️ Warning triangle: SSL exists but has issues (expired, mixed content, wrong domain)
- ❌ “Not Secure”: No SSL installed or HTTPS not configured properly
To see more detail about the SSL.
- Click on the Tune icon

- Click on "Connection is secure"
- Click on "Certificate is valid"
- You will see the certificate issuer
- Expiration date and
- The domain the SSL is issued for.
Depending on the browser, for example if you are using FireFox, you will still see a padlock icon to the left. Click on the padlock and click on "Connection secure" then at the bottom click on more information -> view Certificate.
You can then view more information about that certificate.
If you're using our web hosting, SSL is installed automatically. You can also install or reinstall it yourself at any time. Please read this helpful article.
