There are certain circumstances where you may be using your own DNS servers. In these cases, you will have created a glue record and then delegated your domain to the new nameservers. Over time, you may need to update the DNS record that your nameserver points to (the glue record). If an IP address was added during the initial server delegation on 1st Domains, this IP address will need to be updated.
Below are some instructions on how to update this.
- Log in to your 1st Domains account and click on ‘Manage Domains & Services’.
- Select the domain name you wish to update from the list.
- Click on ‘Configure Name Servers’.
- You will now see your nameservers and the IP address associated with each nameserver, if it was entered at the time of delegation.
- In the IP field, enter the new IP address. You can update both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses if required.
- Click on 'Confirm Update'
Once the IP address has been updated within your account, you will need to contact us so we can update it at the registry. Please email us using the support page if you have logged in or email us on service@1stdomains.nz
NOTE: This only affects .nz domains.
