With the latest versions of Outlook, you may be prompted to use an app password. Since 1st Domains does not require an app password to set up email in Outlook, you will need to switch from the New Outlook to the Classic Outlook to complete the setup. Below are instructions on how to do this. Once you have added the new email address, you can switch back to the New Outlook if you prefer.
Option 1: Use the "New Outlook" Toggle.
- Open Outlook (new)
- In the top-right hand corner find the toggle labeled "New Outlook"
- Turn it OFF
- Outlook will close and automatically reopen in Classic Outlook
If the toggle is visible. this is the easiest method.
Option 2: Use the help Menu
If the toggle does not show, Outlook provides another path.
- Open Outlook(new)
- Go to the Help tab
- Select "Go to Classic Outlook"
- Confirm when prompted.
Option 3: Launch classic from the Start Menu
- Open the Windows Start Menu
- Type Outlook
- You will likely see two options
- Outlook, sometimes labeled New
- Outlook (Classic). The older desktop client
- Click on Outlook (Classic) to launch
Once opened you can go to File -> Add Acount to add your email normally.
Once added you can switch back to the new version of outlook. Click on the link below for instructions on adding the account.
