Import into a Database

To import your database on our hosting servers, you must first get a .sql, .sql.tar or a .sql.zip file from your previous database host. Once you have that file you can now follow the steps below:

  2. Navigate to the Web Hosting Control Panel (Manage Domains & Services -> your domain name-> Web Hosting Control Panel).
  3. The Web Hosting Control Panel will open in a new window (if it does not open, please turn off pop-up blocking in the web browser).
  4. Click on 'Databases' and select the database you wish to import data into.
  5. Click on 'Import Dump'
  6. You can now select where your export file is located. And the select it.
  7. Make sure 'Recreate the database' is unticked
  8. Click on Ok. This will start the import into the database.

You can also use phpMyAdmin to do the import as well. From steps 4 above follow the steps below.

  1. In phpMyAdmin, Click on the 'Import' tab at the top of the page.
  2. Click 'Choose File' and select the database file you wish to import from your local computer.
  3. Ensure the format is set to 'SQL' and click 'Go' to start the import process.

Once completed you should see a success message in the bottom right hand corner of the web hosting control panel.
