Premium domains are domain names that are considered more valuable than standard domain names due to factors like:
- Keyword rich, contains high value or popular search terms
- Ideal for SEO and branding e.g. carinsurance.co
- Brandable, unique and catchy domain names
1st Domains does support the registration of premium domains, however we do not support the transfer of premium domains to us.
Pricing: Premium domains are special domain names that cost more than standard domains. These domains often include short, memorable, or highly searched words, like carinsurance.co Because of their value, they are priced differently.
The extra cost is set by the registry that manages the domain extension (in this case, .co). Registries set premium prices based on things like keyword popularity, branding potential, and demand.
At 1st Domains, we don’t control the pricing of premium domains. All pricing is set directly by the registry, and we simply pass that cost on to you.
Renewals: Premium domains typically renew at higher rates than their initial registration cost. This is because the registry has classified the domain as "premium," and sets the renewal price accordingly. However, this isn't always the case, some premium domains may have standard renewal prices, depending on the registry’s policies or popularity.
