Email Migration Terms & Conditions

Scope of Service

The email migration service includes the transfer of email messages from a supported source mail platform to 1st Domains-hosted email services using industry-standard migration tools and protocols.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the service includes the migration of email messages only and does NOT include:

  • Contacts.
  • Calendars.
  • Tasks.
  • Rules or filters.
  • Email signatures.
  • Shared Mailboxes.
  • Delegated mailbox permissions.
  • Public Folders.
  • Third party application settings.
  • Local PST, OST or archive files or folders.

Customer Responsibilities

The customer must:

  • Provide valid administrator or mailbox credentials for all source mailboxes.
  • Ensure the correct email hosting plan has been purchased for the migration.
    • If you are migrating 7 mailboxes that have 30Gb of storage then you will need to purchase the Unlimited plan with 50Gb of storage. You can view our plans here.
  • Maintain active access to the source email service for the duration of the migration.
  • Ensure source mailboxes are not subject to restrictions that would prevent migration. You may have to speak to your current hosting provider in regard to this.
  • Verify migration data following completion.

Best Effort Service

Email migrations are provided on a best-effort basis. 1st Domains will take reasonable steps to migrate all accessible email data; however, 1st Domains does not guarantee that all emails, folders, attachments or mailbox data will be successfully transferred.

Source System Limitations

1st Domains is not responsible for migration failures, delays, omissions or data discrepancies resulting from:

  • Source server restrictions or rate limiting.
  • Corrupt mailbox data.
  • Unsupported mailbox structures.
  • Inaccessible folders.
  • Invalid Credentials.
  • Insufficient storage quotas.
  • Network interruptions.
  • Actions taken by the source provider.

Data Verification

Customers are responsible for reviewing migrated mailboxes and notifying 1st Domains of any concerns within 7 days of migration completion. 

After this period, the migration will be deemed accepted and complete.

Service Availability During Migration

While every effort is made to minimise disruption, customers acknowledge that:

  • New emails may be received during the migration process.
  • Multiple synchronisations passes may be required.
  • Mailbox content may differ temporarily between source and destination systems until migration is finalised.

Limitation of Liability

1st Domains liability for any migration-related claim shall be limited to the fees paid for the migration service.

1st Domains shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of business.
  • Loss of revenue.
  • Loss of data originating from the source platform.
  • Consequential or indirect damages.
  • Customer actions or omissions affecting the migration process.

Customer Backup Recommendation

Customers are strongly encouraged to maintain independent backups of all email data prior to migration. 1st Domains does not provide backup services for the source email platform unless separately contracted.

Migration Completion

A migration is considered complete when:

  • Voyager has performed the agreed migration activities; and 
  • The customer has been notified of completion

Any additional migration work requested after completion may be subject to additional charges.

Charges

Migration fees are non-refundable once migration activities have commenced, except where otherwise required by law.

Additional work outside the agreed migration scope will be charged at 1st Domains prevailing professional services rates.
